The Purpose of Edgemere Baptist Church shall be to carry out the Great Commission of Jesus Christ as recorde in Matthew 28:19-20 and Acts 1:8. This Church seeks to reach this end through providing regular opportunities for the public worship of God, through the preaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, through the consistent Christian living of its members, through missionary endeavors and personal evangelism, and through a program of Christian education.
The Bible as the Word of God will be the authority and guide in matters of faith and practice. The Edgemere Baptist Church accepts "The Baptist Faith and Message", adopted by the Southern Baptist Convention, Kansas City, Missouri, May 9, 1963, as an expression of its beliefs. The Edgemere Baptist Church subscribes to the principles of Christian conduct set forth in the historic "Church Covenant", commonly used in Southern Baptist Churches, and published in the Baptist Hymnal, copyright 1956.
The Covenant of the Edgemere Baptist Church is vested in the body of believers who compose its membership. It is subject to the control of no other religious or church body. An "active member" is one who attends regularly the services of this church and who contributes to and participates in the work of this church according to New Testament teachings.
Edgemere Baptist Church exists to evangelize the lost!
